Hospital Discharge & Early Home Care
Anatomical & Surgical State:New joint implant with acute surgical swelling, incision wound, and quad inhibition.
Phase Movement Target:Achieve 0Β° extension, 80Β° flexion, and independent transfer ability.
Physiotherapy Focus & Protocols
Active-assisted knee extension to reach 0Β° as early as possible
Ankle pumps and gentle heel slides to prevent blood clots
Safe bed-to-chair transfers and walker ambulation
Clinical Precautions during this phase:
- Keep incision clean and dry
- Do not put pillows under the knee joint while sleeping
